An opulent reimagining of traditional Indian street chaï, our Saffron Masala Chaĩ is defined by its Kesar (Authentic Saffron) heart. For this reimagined traditional Indian aromatic blend, we have opted for a High-Grade CTC (Crush, Tear, Curl) Assam Black Tea, specifically chosen for its ability to provide a sturdy, malty base that complements the complex profile of nine distinct botanicals. The inclusion of whole split cardamom and raw cinnamon bark ensures a fresh, essential-oil-rich infusion that solemnly distinguishes itself  from mainstream Masala Chaï blends.

This blend is crafted for the refined palates who appreciate the mesmerizing aromas of authentic spices coming from faraway lands. It is ideal for those who seek a ceremonial morning and afternoon cup that offers both caffeine-led clarity and a grounding, savoury warmth. It is particularly well-suited for the Canadian climate, providing a formidable defence during frigid winters through its thermogenic Dried Ginger and Black Peppercorns properties. While the Saffron and Green Cardamom help fortify the body’s natural defences and soothe the respiratory system during cool “hay fever” springs.

Character

Regal, commanding, and multidimensional. The character is characterized by a brisk (energetic) tea base that is immediately softened by the floral, hay-like elegance of Saffron. While the Dried Ginger and Black Peppercorns provide a structured warmth, the Fennel seeds and Fenugreek offer a subtle, nutty sweetness that balances the blend’s intensity.

Appearance & Colour of the liquor

When steeped, the liquor reveals a deep, mahogany-copper hue. Upon the addition of milk, it transforms into a rich, glowing ochre. You will notice fine golden streaks—the hallmark of active Saffron threads—waltzing through the dark infusion.

Aroma & Flavour

Aroma: An immediate charmingly intoxicating burst of sweet Green Cardamom and toasted Cinnamon, followed by the distinctive, honeyed  fragrance of authentic Saffron.

Flavour: A sophisticated layering of flavours. It begins with the malty sweetness of the Assam tea, moves into a mid-palate of zesty Dried Ginger and spicy Clove, and concludes with a complex, savory-sweet note derived from the Fenugreek and Fennel seeds.

Body & Mouthfeel

The mouthfeel is full-bodied and elegantly viscous.
