Glistening in the mist-shrouded foothills of the Indian Himalayas, our Darjeeling Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe (F.T.G.F.O.P.) is a testament to the artistry of high-altitude tea cultivation. This particular grade is distinguished by its delicate young buds, also called tips, which imbue the tea with a refined sweetness and a complex, multi-layered profile.

Why we Love it!

Often referred to as the "Champagne of Teas," our Darjeeling F.T.G.F.O.P., is a prestigious black tea harvested from the world-renowned estates of West Bengal. Unlike the robust intensity of an Assam, this tea offers a sophisticated and light profile that captures the very essence of its unique mountain terroir. The "Finest Tippy Golden Flowery" designation signifies a high proportion of finest, golden-tipped buds, ensuring a liquor of exceptional clarity and elegance.

My Compatibili-TEA

This selection is curated for the discerning enthusiast who appreciates nuance over power. It is an ideal companion for those who enjoy a contemplative afternoon ritual or for the connoisseur seeking a tea that mirrors the complexity of a fine Sauvignon Blanc. To truly appreciate the "Champagne of Teas," one must treat it with the respect and honour of  a fine vintage. If you prefer a tea that is bright, aromatic, and intellectually engaging, this is the one.

Golden Taste Club’s Guidance: High-grade Darjeeling is a delicate tea that requires finesse, grace, and attention when steeping, in order to control the release of tannins, which can become overly assertive if steeped for too long. And not to mention that it is a tea making faux pas

Character

The character of this Darjeeling F.T.G.F.O.P., is elegant, lively, and courtly. It possesses a natural briskness that awakens the palate without overwhelming it, balanced by a sophisticated floral sweetness, characteristic of premium Himalayan harvests.

Appearance & Colour of the liquor

In its dry state, the leaves are wiry and dark, interspersed with visible finest golden tips. Once steeped, the liquor transforms into a brilliant, glowing amber with a clarity that reflects its high-grade processing. It possesses a luminous, sun-kissed aura in the cup.

Aroma & Flavour

Aroma: The bouquet is immediately captivating, offering a fragrant medley of wildflower honey and damp earth.

Flavour: On the palate, expect the much coveted "Muscatel" profile—notes of ripe muscat grapes, dried fruits, and a subtle hint of toasted nuts. A delicate floral top note provides a lifting brightness to the deeper, woody undertones.

Body & Mouthfeel

This tea features a medium-light body with a crisp, clean structure. It is remarkably smooth, though it carries a pleasant, sophisticated astringency. It provides shape and definition to the degustation experience.

Aromatic Persistence (The Finish)

The finish is lingering and exceptionally clean. It leaves a refined, dry sweetness on the back of the throat, with echoing notes of stone fruit and floral honey that remain long after the final sip.
